Regional Water Shortage Declared

Residential Irrigation and Other Uses Must be Reduced
With regional ground and surface water levels declining quickly thanks to a record-breaking dry season, and no significant rainfall expected in the coming weeks, a number of water shortage orders are now in effect. The orders limit landscape irrigation to two days per week.

When sufficient rainfall replenishes regional water supplies, the Year-Round Landscape Irrigation Conservation Measures rule will once again apply to residential users. The rule establishes a two-day-a-week landscape watering schedule throughout the District, with a three-day-a-week provision for users in some counties. In all cases, reclaimed water used for irrigation is exempt.
