Would you like to take a more active role in protecting water resources and our environment? As a volunteer, you can take a hands-on approach to improving recreational opportunities in your neighborhood or in your favorite areas.
Throughout our 16-county region, we have nine Service Centers with staff who work with local communities, businesses and governments. Look for the Service Center closest to you, and contact them to see if they can recommend volunteer opportunities in your area.

Known as the crown jewel of Audubon sanctuaries, Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is a spectacular and pristine mix of native plants and animals. Ancient 600-year-old cypress trees tower into the sky, shading the shallow swamp waters. Volunteers can be involved with protecting the swamp in many different areas of sanctuary operations. Working closely with Audubon employees, volunteers contribute countless hours and services. You, too, can be part of this family.
The Pine Jog Environmental Education Center is one of the oldest nature centers in the nation serving more than 25,000 students, 750 teachers and 12,500 adults/families each year. The center is located in Palm Beach County.
Volunteers are needed to work in many different areas of the park. The Park's Web site has a Volunteer link with additional information and an online application. You will need to print the application from the Park, fill it out and mail it to the Park. Summer Intern Positions are filled locally through the U. S. Park Service.
You can volunteer to help Florida's Department of Environmental Protection preserve a variety of coastal resources. Whether it's helping monitor water quality in Charlotte Harbor, planting mangroves in Rookery Bay, or participating in a beach cleanup near St. Augustine, there's lots of opportunities to get your hands dirty.
